The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced that it will pay an annual bonus of MVR 25,000 to each employee.

MACL Corporate Communication Manager Shamaan Shakir confirmed to Adhadhu that the bonuses were deposited to the company's employees on Sunday.

This is the third consecutive year that MACL employees are receiving an annual bonus of MVR 25,000 each.

The bonus is usually paid in August every year and some employees have raised concerns over the delay this year.

In addition to a large annual bonus, MACL was the only government company to pay salaries in dollars.

MACL posted a profit of MVR 1.1 billion last year. The company has a total of 4,264 employees.
