The fifth meeting of the Defense Cooperation Dialogue between Maldives and India was held in New Delhi yesterday.

General Ibrahim Hilmy from the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) attended the meeting while Defense Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane represented India.

The Defense Ministry said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss issues related to defence cooperation between the two countries. They also discussed the acceleration of the implementation of various projects.

The ministry said other areas of common interest such as high-level exchanges and capacity development projects, as well as participation in upcoming bilateral military exercises, were also discussed.

The last meeting of the Defense Cooperation Dialogue was held on March 19, 2023.
