A Sri Lankan national died on Saturday after being injured when his motorcycle skidded on the highway between Hulhumale' and Male'.

In a message sent to the media, police said the man sustained injuries after hitting the roadside fence when his motorcycle skidded.

The incident occurred at 06:40 am Saturday.

The man was initially taken to Hulhumale' Hospital for treatment. He was then taken to ADK Hospital. He died while undergoing treatment at ADK, police said.

Police are investigating the incident.
