An employee of Afcons Infrastructure, working at the Thilamale' bridge site, has been found dead with injuries.

Police said the incident was reported at dawn on Tuesday.

"The hospital informed the police that the man was dead when taken to IGMH [Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital]. Information gathered so far has revealed that the man is an employee of Afcons which is working on the Male'-Villimale' bridge," police said in a message to media.

Police have not yet revealed where the man was found or who took him to the hospital.

But they said an investigation was underway.

In June this year, an Indian employee of Afcons died while working on the Thilamale' bridge. Police did not disclose the outcome of the investigation.
