Despite Police Spokesman Ahmed Shifan claiming that a fire incident which damaged parked cycles in Male' on Sunday night was not an act of arson, information from sources suggests the fire was caused deliberately.

Five motorcycles parked in Henveiru Meheli Road (in front of the fuel supply shed) were completely burnt due to the fire.

Adhadhu understands that the arson was committed by a group of people on the top floor of a house by throwing something set on fire at the cycles. Their actions were captured on some CCTV cameras in the area.

While the Police are investigating the incident, several social media users have expressed their views that the fire was deliberate.

Many linked this incident to the torching of parked motorcycles in front of the Parliament building earlier this month.

However, police said investigations so far show the fire occurred without anyone's involvement.
