Customs have seized more than three kilograms of drugs smuggled by sea.

Customs said the drugs were seized during an operation to search a shipment brought by sea.

The shipment included 2,138 grams of methamphetamine, 1,086 grams of ketamine and 310 grams of heroin. The total weight is 3.5 kg.

The street value of the items is estimated at MVR 6.7 million.

Customs said more investigations were underway and that the confiscated drugs had been handed over to the police.

It is unclear whether any arrests have been made in connection with the case.
