A young man has died in a dangerous road accident in Addu city today.

The accident occurred when a motorcycle traveling from Maradhoo to Hithadhoo went out of control and hit the Hankede bridge fence.

A media official for Addu Equatorial Hospital told Adhadhu that the deceased was a 24-year-old man.

"The man was taken to hospital at 9:15 am. He died while undergoing treatment at 9:50 am," the official stated.

In a message to the media, police said the deceased was identified as Leevan Abdul Sattar. Adhadhu understands that he is a member of the racing community.

Police said further investigations are underway.
