Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO)'s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ilyas Haneef has resigned.

The company's Media Officer Ibrahim Saeed confirmed his resignation to Adhadhu.

Ilyas Haneef told Adhadhu that he resigned in order to begin work at another office.

His resignation comes at a time when a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) had been named for the company along with changes to the board of directors.

Dr. Vitaliy Lyubimov was appointed on December 9, seven months after the post became vacant. He is the first foreign CEO of the state-owned fisheries company.

Meanwhile, the company's Chairperson Ahmed Shareef was transferred to the Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Limited (MFORMPC) on December 30.
