Mohamed Shafau Hassan, a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Airports Company, has been sacked without providing a reason.

Adhadhu understands that the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) sent the letter of dismissal to Shafau on Thursday.

Shafau could not be reached for comment. However, Adhadhu has received the letter of dismissal.

The letter did not state a reason for Shafau's dismissal. The document simply states that Shafau has been dismissed from the Board of Directors of Regional Airports Company Limited, in accordance with Law No. 3/2013 (Privatization, Corporatization and Monitoring and Evaluation of State Enterprises Act).

Shafau was appointed as a director of Regional Airports in 2021. He was also the Managing Director of Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) during former President Abdulla Yameen's administration.

Shafau also served as the Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at the Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), Assistant Manager at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) and Distribution Manager at Dhiraagu.
