Maldives and the United States today signed the 14th amendment to the Development Objective Grant Agreement (DOAG).

Through this amendment, the U.S. government commits an additional USD 8.5 million to the Maldives, increasing the total value of the agreement to USD 45.7 million.

Minister of State Sheryna Abdul Samad signed the amendment on behalf of Maldives at a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry.

USAID Mission Director, Gabriel Grau, signed the amendment on behalf of the U.S. government.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and USAID Mission to the Maldives.

In recent years, the amount of money allocated under the agreement has gradually increased, with the total value of the agreement reaching USD 45.7 million.

The DOAG is a landmark development cooperation agreement signed between the Maldives and the U.S. to strengthen the technical capacity of the Maldives in managing public finances and bolster the resilience of the country's economic and democratic governance.
